Long Time No Post

Yea...it's been a while since I posted last-here are a few pages I have scrapped recently. I'll be back for a real post soon.

Flashback Friday for Wags

One of my best friends from Snow College lives in Logan & always made trips to SLC, Lehi, and even Provo to come and visit. We finally returned the favor and drove up to Logan to see her. She took us to this awesome little zoo & we had a great time walking around looking at all the animals. We also got to see where she lives, eat a bunch of her home made cookies, Brinley got cozy in her Love Sac, and Trinity broke one of her DVDs in half!! Oops, sorry wags, I still feel bad about that! She is such a great friend & even brought super cute little dresses for the girls back from her trip to Hawaii. I was so sad when they grew out of them!! Love You Wags!

Speed Scrap

I have been wanting to take part in a Speed Scrap (if you have NO IDEA what that is don't worry because I didn't either and I STILL tried to join one!) on one of my best friends digi scrap site Scrap Matters

I did my best to be on the site at the time when it was going to start, but I had NO CLUE what I was doing & ended up finally figuring it out when there was about 10 minutes of the hour allotted time left. I plugged along & created a digital layout anyway & couldn't remember how to post it where I was supposed to! Sheesh...talk about rusty! So, I figured I would at least post my work somewhere & try again next time! I love digital scrap booking, but I don't do it often enough to actually remember what to do! Oh well, as they say on Yo Gabba Gabba, "Keep Trying , Keep Trying, Don't Give Up, Never Give Up!"
So, with that said, here is the layout I did:

Hot Stack of Memories

As I stood watching tiny bubbles form on the tops of my freshly poured pancakes my mind drifted back to when I was a kid watching my Dad make pancakes on a Saturday morning. I remember him saving the tiny little drips of batter that would fall on to the griddle between pours & then scoop them gently onto the plate with the other finished pancakes. I would smile as he offered the tiny pancakes to us to eat with the regular sized ones. I don't remember many details, but I do remember watching Kellie my younger sister pouring syrup on the tiny specs and eating each and every last one.

Although my Dad made his pancakes and syrup from scratch and mine were Bisquick and Log Cabin I still decided to keep the drippings I made that day and give them to my girls too. Funny how something so small can bring back such a warm memory. I miss my family often, but find myself feeling close to them through memories like this that are brought back as I go about my day. This day it was a Hot Stack of Memories.

Work in Progress

Ok-Here they are. These are the first bows that I have made & there are a few that I love, some that I like, and a couple that I don't think will ever make it outside these walls! One of the first ones I made is not shown here because, sadly, it has already been torn apart! Trust me, I was flaming mad when I realized it! A store bought bow is one thing, but when it is something you take the time to make it is even worse! I had to remind myself it was just a bow!! Perhaps I'll try to bring it back to life...we'll see.

Play Group Marathon

We have playgroup every week & it usually goes for about 2 hours. Today we brought supplies & made little hair clips. I ended up being at playgroup for 5 hours!!! Wow, I guess it was a playgroup marathon!

I never seem to get as many bows done as I think I will, but I did get a few done & I actually really like a couple of them!! I'll take some pics and show what I have made so far. I think we are doing them again for playgroup next week too! I'm SO excited!! This time I will be sure to bring better food for our extended stay~!

Washable, not Edible

Look at those cute little fingers! Grayden thought he'd gnaw on some of Trinity's new washable crayons. From the look on his face I could tell he decided pretty quickly that although they were washable, they were NOT edible!! YUCK!

Why do the Holidays bring so many treats & so little will power?!

I'm a Mom, not a quitter!

I have been doing SO well on my post-a-day challenge, but yesterday the task of being a Mom finally got to me! I sat down at the computer bright and early to post about whatever was on my mind, but I was detained by my 3 beautiful children. I didn't manage to make it back to the computer until 11:55pm & as I was about to attempt a post for the second time that day I was once again detained by my sweet little Brinley who had been throwing up! So yea-I'm a Mom, but I am not a quitter! I plan on plugging along until Dec 10th & will ignore the fact that one day along my journey was "missed". Hopefully the "blogging Gods" would agree & pretend with me that missing a day won't matter!

Address Request-repost-hehehe

So when I posted my original request for all of your addresses I forgot to mention that if you already know my Yahoo email address that you can send your info there. If not I would still love to send you a Christmas card, so go ahead and email me at 26cheetos@gmail.com . I won't use that account for anything else, so if you want to start emailing me & want my Yahoo address just ask & I'll send that your way! Be sure and get me that info ASAP & maybe I'll get my cards sent before Christmas this year!!

How Ironic!

We are in the process of putting up all our Christmas decorations. I say "in the process" meaning that it will probably take at least a week and a half to get everything up! Anyway...we plugged in the lights to use for our tree & they were all working & looked great! I started going to town on the tree and got them all how I wanted them. The plug ended up in the perfect spot right by the outlet on the wall & I didn't even have to mess with an extension cord! I plugged them in, stepped back to see if they looked even & realized that somewhere between testing the lights before putting them on & plugging them in once I finished putting them on the tree a HUGE CHUNK of them had gone out! How Ironic! I didn't even want to deal with it, so I just unplugged them & will decide what to do about it tomorrow! Bah Hum-Bug!

Nuggets Game

My parents ended up coming out to spend Thanksgiving with us & it was so nice to have them here all week! Matt got tickets for the Nuggets game on Thanksgiving day, so after we were done stuffing ourselves we headed out for some fun! Grayden loved all the things to see & didn't even get scared at the booming sound of the announcer or the cheering crowd! We had really nice seats that had a menu you could order from. Grandma & Grandpa treated us to some cotton candy & the girls were in heaven! It was the first time Brinley had ever eaten it & was attacking it like a shark going after fresh meat!I got a little sticky trying to keep up with the "hungry sharks"!The Nuggets ended up losing, but it was such a fun game & a really close loss! The kids really did great considering the game didn't start until 8:30. Brinley and Grayden both ended up falling asleep. I brought a few things in case Trinity got bored & she didn't end up using them until the very end of the game. She had a lot of fun sitting between Grandma & Grandpa-all the free hugs she could handle! Grandpa & Grayden after the game.
