Long Time No Post

Yea...it's been a while since I posted last-here are a few pages I have scrapped recently. I'll be back for a real post soon.

Flashback Friday for Wags

One of my best friends from Snow College lives in Logan & always made trips to SLC, Lehi, and even Provo to come and visit. We finally returned the favor and drove up to Logan to see her. She took us to this awesome little zoo & we had a great time walking around looking at all the animals. We also got to see where she lives, eat a bunch of her home made cookies, Brinley got cozy in her Love Sac, and Trinity broke one of her DVDs in half!! Oops, sorry wags, I still feel bad about that! She is such a great friend & even brought super cute little dresses for the girls back from her trip to Hawaii. I was so sad when they grew out of them!! Love You Wags!

Speed Scrap

I have been wanting to take part in a Speed Scrap (if you have NO IDEA what that is don't worry because I didn't either and I STILL tried to join one!) on one of my best friends digi scrap site Scrap Matters

I did my best to be on the site at the time when it was going to start, but I had NO CLUE what I was doing & ended up finally figuring it out when there was about 10 minutes of the hour allotted time left. I plugged along & created a digital layout anyway & couldn't remember how to post it where I was supposed to! Sheesh...talk about rusty! So, I figured I would at least post my work somewhere & try again next time! I love digital scrap booking, but I don't do it often enough to actually remember what to do! Oh well, as they say on Yo Gabba Gabba, "Keep Trying , Keep Trying, Don't Give Up, Never Give Up!"
So, with that said, here is the layout I did:

Hot Stack of Memories

As I stood watching tiny bubbles form on the tops of my freshly poured pancakes my mind drifted back to when I was a kid watching my Dad make pancakes on a Saturday morning. I remember him saving the tiny little drips of batter that would fall on to the griddle between pours & then scoop them gently onto the plate with the other finished pancakes. I would smile as he offered the tiny pancakes to us to eat with the regular sized ones. I don't remember many details, but I do remember watching Kellie my younger sister pouring syrup on the tiny specs and eating each and every last one.

Although my Dad made his pancakes and syrup from scratch and mine were Bisquick and Log Cabin I still decided to keep the drippings I made that day and give them to my girls too. Funny how something so small can bring back such a warm memory. I miss my family often, but find myself feeling close to them through memories like this that are brought back as I go about my day. This day it was a Hot Stack of Memories.

Work in Progress

Ok-Here they are. These are the first bows that I have made & there are a few that I love, some that I like, and a couple that I don't think will ever make it outside these walls! One of the first ones I made is not shown here because, sadly, it has already been torn apart! Trust me, I was flaming mad when I realized it! A store bought bow is one thing, but when it is something you take the time to make it is even worse! I had to remind myself it was just a bow!! Perhaps I'll try to bring it back to life...we'll see.
